Fastest Hula Hooper Alive
I ran behind Betty Hoops again with a video camera attached to a walking stick mono-pod documenting her as she ran the BolderBoulder 10K Road Race in 1:14:48.71 while hula hooping. She beat her previous world record which is currently in the Guinness World Records 2008.
A Michael Conti Video Productions completed 5 video profiles on the Boulder Valley School Educators nominated for the Impact Awards and awarded at the Glenn Miller Ballroom on the University of Colorado Campus on Thursday, April 17 2008. At the end of the evening, there was not a dry eye in the house.
The videotaping of each nominate required an intimate interview with educator at their school. Our goal was to capture the affirming story behind why the educator was nominated, and who inspired them to their path. These interviews were supplemented with additional footage of students at work and play, supporting interviews from parents, staff and students. The end result was about an hour of content for each nominee which was then edited down to a four minute piece that was shown at the awards ceremony prior to each acceptance speech.
A Michael Conti Video Productions is honored to be part of the event and to have the opportunity to spend time with each of the nominees in the process of making this video.
Now its 17th year, Impact on Education, a community partnership with Boulder Valley Schools recognizes educational excellence by providing a visible forum and awards to individuals who make extraordinary contributions to public education. The 2008 Impact on Education award recipients are: Leticia deLozano, Spanish Teacher, Boulder High School; Michele Hibl, Fifth-Grade Teacher, Coal Creek Elementary School; Larry Orobona, Principal, Heatherwood Elementary School; Al Real, Science Teacher, Nederland Middle/Senior High School; Barb Steiner, Fifth-Grade Teacher, Bear Creek Elementary School.
The videos will be combined together into a longer format program including additional material shot and edited by Alan O'Hashi of Boulder Community Media (BCM) is a non-profit organization with which the City of Boulder has contracted to provide public and educational access television services. In 2007, BCM launched Boulder Valley Educational Television channel 22 (BVET channel 22).
The voice-over on the opening video was provided by Katharyn Grant, a Denver-based Actress and voice-over talent.
A Michael Conti Video Productions was contacted by David G. Cohen, the founder and Exective Director of TechStars, which runs a program founded by a collective of Colorado-based entrepreneurs as a way of promoting entrepreneurial activity in their home state. Ten start-ups receive up to $15,000 in seed funding for their new company, plus the chance to pitch to angel investors and venture capitalists at the end of the summer.
David wanted to answer one of the most common questions they get at TechStars which is simply “What’s it like?” A Michael Conti Video Productions was responsible for the filming and editing of that video.
All the filming took place over 6 hours at the TechStar's offices in Boulder, Colorado. Each interview with a founder lasted no more then 20 minutes with the final goal consisting of a 3 minute video. By bouncing a small kit of lights off the surrounding walls, Michael was able to use the colorful environment in a variety of setups while maintaining a natural look. David didn't want the video to feel too polished and was looking for a more documentary feel as opposed to a commercial or marketing look. David's line of questions helped drive the story of "what's it like?" Additional shots were inserted from material that had been shot the previous summer.
TechStars is now accepting applications for Summer, 2008. The application deadline is March 31, 2008.

Jil Nesbit & David Cohen's Wedding in Breckenridge
A Michael Conti Video Productions shot and edited the rehearsal dinner, wedding and reception party for JilNesbit and David Cohen on December 1, 2007 in Breckenridge, Colorado. The final result was made into a DVD which was provided to friends and family of the newly wedded couple.
The bride and groom were looking for solid documentation of their wedding event, and A Michael Conti Video Productions shot hours of footage in order to find capture those special moments: from the couple leaving the church for a snowy carriage ride; to last minute bustle and tassel arrangements on the wedding dress before the introduction of the couple at the reception; to children dancing with grandparents late at night. Every wedding has its different moments, but these are the types of precious video moments that brought a smile to Jil and David's face when reviewing the final video.
Storage Markets uses video to showcase market services
Rich Pappas and John Ives of Storage Markets contracted with A Michael Conti Video Productions in October 2006 to produce a quarterly vblog that would highlight their predictive market services.
